This was our first time at Jerry's Pizza and Pub and we went there for a concert. Our son is a big fan of Brotha Lynch Hung so we purchased tickets and showed up a few hours early for a meet and greet.
Brotha Lynch was delayed due to traffic so we ordered pizza and sodas. The staff was very nice and brought us a 16 inch pizza we had ordered which was garlic and chicken. The pizza had nice large chunks of mushrooms, onions, and chicken and the garlic sauce was great. The first refill on the sodas is free but condiments cost 50 cents a piece. As we ate we were approached by staff and asked if we would be drinking but we declined because we do not drink alcohol.
Prices were fair for the concert, food and sodas but the meet and greet was more than the price of a ticket and was supposed to include a signed CD, a moment to meet the artist and a picture however the artist was unaware he was supposed to bring CDs and sign them so we signed a piece of notebook paper with the promise one would be mailed to us at a later date. I will update the review if we receive that merchandise.
The place looks like it has history and there is a full bar downstairs for those who drink as well as a full basement with a stage. The entire visit lasted us about 7 hours and our son enjoyed it very much.
For concert events, parking can be found just around the corner at a parking complex patrolled by security. There are a whole host of tattoo shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity as well as street vendors selling things if you go outside and walk around.
Overall we enjoyed the concert and the food and I would return for another concert in the future or stop by for pizza and sodas if I'm ever in the area.
We were looking for a place to eat before the Toby Keith concern on Friday and our first choice (The 18Hundred) told us they had an 90+ minute wait - thanks but no thanks. Looking & walking around we saw Jerry's Pizza & Pub and figured that was a good option, a dive bar like atmosphere for some hopefully inexpensive pizza and beer. We have no idea if the food is good or not - the employees were hanging out in the front of the restaurant with their friends getting high. No acknowledgement of us as we entered the restaurant and none when we left.
I don't really care what people do, but the combination of weed, pizza ovens and sharp knives doesn't seem very smart nor is it very inviting which is why the restaurant was completely empty.
This was my SPOT back when I was a teenager and I honestly havent been there in at least 9 years.. went last night for an event and I am super impressed with what the newer owners have done!
They have maintained the same "Jerry's" spirit that I remember while upping the game with a full bar in the basement and a ton of new menu items!
I will definately be back
Gotta love the great food, bands and customer service, latino familia running this great pizza parlor..
01/18/2019 -- First time trying out this joint. Hubby told me a lot about this place and how popular it is. I finally gave in and decided the time to try something new was now.
To be completely honest, I had high expectations for Jerry's. After reading some reviews, I expected the pizza to come from heaven's kitchen. That was not the case, obviously. To me, it was okay.
It was a little greasy, which is typical for good pizza. We had the chicken, mushroom, and garlic pizza. It was okay in a sense that it pretty much tasted like your average pizza hangout. Nonetheless, it was tasty.
We also opted for an order of chicken fingers and garlic cheese bread. Chicken fingers were average and the garlic cheese bread was good.
I would recommend this place, of course. I would recommend, however, not to splurge like we did. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs tonight.
